In addition, we have a well-rounded visual arts programme and envision adding to our expanding extra-mural activities in due course.
In 2016 we introduced ballroom dancing to our high school learners. They have since participated in examinations and many have received their bronze certificate. They also take part in the social dances which are arranged by the dance company and interact with other high schools at these.
Between Grade 1 and Grade3 we encourage all our learners to participate in the Junior Choir. The Junior Choir practice takes place every second Monday morning.
Our Senior Choir consists of our Grade 4 to our Grade 7 learners. They practice every Tuesday morning. We aim to introduce them to different styles and genres in order for them to be well-rounded.
This group consists of our Grade 8 to Grade12 learners. We felt that as our High School is still growing, we would like to keep up with the trend of Singing Groups. This group relies on only their voices to make various sounds and sing harmonies.
In our High School, we would like our scholars to learn how to be worshippers, and so we have established a worship group who lead the school in worship during High School Assemblies. We aim to expose our learners who excel in this area to leading worship and performing worship on stage.
We have a flourishing musical entrustment at Willow Academy. Our music grading is done via either Royals Schools, Trinity or Unisa for:
Individual Guitar: Bass, electric and acoustic
Piano: classical and worship style
Drums: Basic Rhythms
Individual Singing classes
